In December 2019, I decided to cut my hair, as a symbol of new beginnings after a hard phase in my life, and partly because of my receding hairline. My hair started growing again after a few weeks, and the question of how I would grow it arose.
I wanted to explore something new, after having relaxed hair for a long time. After a lot of thinking I decided to go the natural route. I had always admired hair that is in natural state on other women.
I began to watch a lot of YouTube videos on how to take care of natural hair, since I had zero knowledge on that subject. I was so excited to be trying something new.
I fell in love with taking care of my hair and I have learnt to value it in whatever state it is in.
I appreciate every strand of hair that is growing on my head, and I am in awe of my coils and kinks. I love how versatile my hair is, it shrinks and it stretches out.
I prioritize health over anything when it comes to my hair. I nourish my hair with plenty of water and products that it loves.
I am grateful for this hair journey.
